Kaleb Ross Wolfley

He finally came! Here's the story. Last Thursday I was just sitting on the couch waiting for Tim to get home from class when I started to feel warm liquid seeping into my pants. I franticly threw Mavrick off me and ran to the bathroom, realizing my water just broke. I tried to call Tim and when he didn't answer I started to panick and called my Mom who was in Minneapolis visiting my sister Kelltie. I started to cry because I wasn't ready to have him. I was still planning on another week. I finally got a hold of Tim and he got home shortly after that. I wasn't having any contractions yet so my midwife said I didn't have to go to the hospital right away if I didn't want to. I still hadn't eaten dinner yet so I grabbed something really quick, we packed Jane a bag for the night, woke her up and took her down to Tim's mom's house before we went to the hospital. The not so fun part about all this is when my water broke, it didn't all come out at once so when we got to Tim's parents house and I got out of the car, more water came out everywhere. Luckily I had my bag I was taking to the hospital to put on some dry pants. At Tim's parents house, Tim gave me a blessing, which really helped to calm my nerves. I'm so glad I have a husband who can do that for me. We then rushed down to the hospital since my contractions were starting. When I got out of the car again more water came out. I was so embarrased it might look like I peed my pants. When they got me all hooked up to the monitors, it said my contractions were 1-2 minutes apart, so I started thinking that this was going to go by really fast. I was wrong. I started doing my hypnobirthing and waited. Meanwhile, anytime I moved or Kaleb kicked, more water came out. I was just leaking constantly all night. Finally around 2 in the morning, my contractions started to get more intense and also moved around to my back. This started bringing back memories of when I was in labor with Jane and how much it hurt and I started to get nervous again. I was still only dialated to a 6, so I had a little ways to go, so I decided to get an epidural. I have to say, that is probably the weirdest feeling I have ever experienced. After that kicked in Tim and I were able to take a little nap. When I woke up, I could no longer move my legs. I think the nurses thought I was a little crazy because I kept laughing and saying how weird it all was. Finally around 7:30, they checked me and said I was complete and by 7:45 Friday morning, January 16, with just a couple pushes, Kaleb was born. He was 9 lbs and 19 inches long. He looked so cute because his limbs and everything were all short but he was so chubby! Even his shoulders had rolls! I loved it! I was feeling so good too. I couldn't believe how different it was getting an epidural. I'm still really glad that I went natural with Jane. I was really glad to have that experience. But with Kaleb everything was so much easier! I'm so happy to finally have Kaleb in our home. He is loved by so many. Jane thinks he is great. This morning when I went to take a shower I moved him from his swing and went to take him by the bathroom so I could hear him if he cried and Jane was so upset that I was taking him away! She really loves her new brother. So far she hasn't had too many fits that she isn't getting enough attention, but I've been lucky enough to have Tim home with me all week so we'll see how things go when he goes back to work.

Right after he was born. Still a little gunky.

After they got him cleaned up.

Being silly already.

The poor little guy has no neck.

Jane's first time meeting her new brother.

She likes to give him hugs.

Honking his nose.

Tim was messing with him and gave him a new nose.

Kaleb and his daddy!

Getting ready to go home.

Sleeping at home. He's so sweet!
