This Year So Far

I know that I am way behind on my blogging. We've had some computer issues over the last couple months, and in the process, I lost some pictures, including Kaleb's first birthday. Needless to say, I was pretty upset, but I'm going to catch up on this year so far with the pictures that I still have.
I LOVE his sweet little smile! This was back in January, just chillin'.

Jane found a box of Nerds and I came down to find that she had poured some out for her and Kaleb and was so happy to tell me that she was sharing. How could I get after her for that?

She was even helping feed them to him.

She loves posing for the camera!

Kaleb absolutely loves this little chair of Janes so much that if she tries to sit in it he flips out and runs over to try and push her out of it.

In February we took Jane bowling for the first time and she had so much fun! Of course she thought that it should always be her turn.

She bowled as good as I did, but in my defense, she had bumpers.

Starting the day after New Years, we remodeled our kitchen. We thought it would take us about two weeks, and those two weeks turned into six. But all that work was so worth it! I love my new kitchen! I lost the before picture. Oops.

The cabinets used to be a dark wood and we stripped them down, sanded them and used a milk paint. We did an undercoat of brown and then two coats of cream and antiqued them a little bit and then did four coats of varnish. It all took forever! But I think they turned out pretty good! Tim added those shelves on the side.

I love my new sink and faucet! I was so excited about them!

We added the frame around the pantry and got new doors. We also replaced all the shelves in the pantry and cupboards and some slide out shelves in the lower ones, replaced all the sliders on the drawers, painted the walls and installed a water line for the fridge. I love that Tim is so good at doing this kind of stuff! Thanks honey!

One Saturday, we really needed to get out of the house and do something, so we took the kids to the dinosaur museum. Jane was excited about the 3D movie, but then it scared her. She did like it looking like those big dinosaurs were coming at her.

Kaleb loved the movie, laughed when the dinos roared, and even reached out trying to touch them.
Jane is doing her dinosaur face.
She loved playing in the sand!

And this is her shark face.
Digging for bones!
I thought this was so funny because it looks like he's peeing.

He loved the ricecrispie treat at dinner after.
My Jane tunred 3 this year. We had a little family party with the cousins and she couldn't have been more excited to have to much attention on her. She got lots of great presents! Thanks everyone!
Kaleb spent most of the night in his chair happy about all the good food.

I made Jane a new blanket for her bed! It didn't turn out perfect, but I was happy with it!

I made Jane's cake at 10:00 the night before her party and it fell apart coming out of the pan, so in the morning I just went and bought one, but Jane was excited because she got to pic it out!

And once again, she loved having all the attention on her.

Yummy cake!

On Janes actually birthday, we got her ears peirced. She had been saying for the whole month before and she wanted to get it done and it was going to be a little poke and then she would have earing! But when we got there, she chickened out, but I knew that she really did want it done, so Tim held her down and they just did it. As soon as it was over she loved showing them to whoever would look. After, we took her to Pirate Island, her favorite place. This is her pirate face.

Jane wanted to play all the big kids games with Tim.

I won the jackpot! Look at all those tickets! I think it was close to 1500 tickets! It was awesome! Jane got lots of little toys when we were all done.

Kaleb went through a little stage where he loved rubbing his peanut butter and jam sandwhich all over his hair. He thinks it's pretty funny.

One morning I walked in Kaleb's room to find them both reading books so nicely together! I loved it!

Tim got this fake moustache for Kaleb. He didn't like it, but it gave me a good laugh.

My sister-in-law Jenny and her kids came down for Easter weekend. We were really sad that Jeff couldn't come too, but it was lots of fun to have them here. We got to paint eggs. Jane was concentrating pretty hard on it.

And the kids loved the egg hunt!

Cousins all sitting in a row! Jensen loves posing for the camera.

Jane and Chelsa were so cute together. They have very similar little personalities, so half the time they got along really well, and then rest of the time, not so much. A couple times they charged each other down, both giving such attitude. It was hillarious!

Aren't we cute!

Chloe was so cute with Kaleb. She took him around everywhere playing with him and she was so sweet. He really liked her.

They were so funny on the seesaw because Jane weighed more then Chelsa, so she was in the air a lot of the time and they couldn't really figure out how to make it work right.
I tried getting Kaleb to color. He was pretty excited about it, but mostly just ended up playing with the crayons and trying to eat them.
I love this cute little guy! At his 15 month appointment they said he was only in the 9% for height, 20% for weight, but 80% for head. He is finally walking, and starting to say a couple words like daddy, more and uh-oh. He is a little boy who definatly knows what he wants, but is also so sweet! He is starting to get a little bit more independent and wonder off from me and play with other people, but I'm still his favorite and he doesn't wonder off for long.
Jane is so energetic all the time. She makes it hard to keep up with her, but she is always saying the funniest things and making everybody laugh. She loves to make up her own songs and is obsessed with anything princess. She's starting to make more friends and loves going to nursery. She loves to help me around the house, even if it isn't always very helpfull. I love this little girl! When did she get so big!

A Couple of Firsts

This last week Kaleb got his first hair cut. This is his before. Isn't he SO cute!
And this is the best after picture I could get. It is so short now. I have to say, I was kind of sad, because now he looks older and not like my sweet little baby any more! But, I'm getting used to it and I like being able to spike it now.
The next day, Kaleb got his first taste of pop and LOVED it. I wasn't supposed to know about it, but when I came down stairs, he gave me a huge smile and dived for the pop can. He was really sad when Tim finally took it away.

We are so lucky to be such good friends with Santa the he comes to visit us. Most of the kids thought it was great. Owen was pretty shy, and Charlie and Kaleb didn't want to have anything to do with him, but the rest of the kids loved it. Jane was so cute. As soon as Santa pulled her present out of his bag, she knew it was for her. She gave a little gasp and started walking toward him before he even said her name. She got a sticker maker and has been loving it. She tells me how cute and wonderful her present is and it was "so nice for Santa" to bring it for her.
Kaleb didn't want to have anything do to with him. It didn't help that it was past his bedtime and he really wanted his mommy.
He never recovered until I went and got him, and then he was very happy to leave to group and go straight to bed.
Us adults had a lot of fun having a fondue party. Tim makes great fondue and we all stuff ourselves silly. I love Christmas so much and can't wait for Christmas Day!

Catch Up

We had a great Thanksgiving. I decided to host it at my house this year and I definitely learned how much work it takes to put it all together, but it was so much fun! We had both mine and Tim's parents and my sister Brittney and bother Matt and there families. It was quite a crown and lots of fun to get everybody together.
I can't believe how old Kaleb is getting! He's going to be 11 months next week. He still doesn't crawl on his hands and knees, but that doesn't stop him from getting where he wants to go, including inside the dog kennel.
He LOVES to hold your fingers and walk around or even just stand beside the couch. The silly little boy just won't eat regular food. He's pretty intent on staying on baby food as long as I'll let him. But it's hard to be frustrated with him when he shoots a smile my directions. I don't think smiles come any cuter than his!
The other night when I went in to check on him I found he had buried his head in his blanket. Super cute!
I can't believe how old Jane is getting either. She is excited about everything all the time and rarely stops talking, even when she's alone. She loves to go to the library and get new books. She absolutely adores her Daddy and won't leave him alone the second he gets home. Her new favorite thing to do is hide-and-seek. However, it's not too hard to find her because she can't stop giggling while she's hiding.
We got some good snow yesterday so we took Jane out to play in it. She looks like she's plotting something.
Sometimes Kaleb will just start laughing and you don't know what he's laughing it, but he is so cute!
